Oceanic Dream
This piece of marble was discovered outside the entrance to the Danby Vermont Marble Quarry. Marble is sedimentary rock, compressed calcium, and often contains fossils - the imprint of an organism that lived ages ago and got sealed into the rock. The conical form in the middle of this sculpture is the shape of a prehistoric mollusk, an ancient ocean animal.
In making this sculpture, I tried to stay true to the integrity of the stone, to enhance its beautiful veining and its organic shape. When looking at the form, one can imagine the waves of the ocean.

Forest Nymph
This forest nymph, as with Greek nymphs, is a personification of nature. A spirit, not necessarily immortal, but living much longer than a human. If you encounter it in the forest, listen for music, look for it to bath in a stream during the noon heat or middle of night.

Caryatid
Installed 6/7/2018 at Settlers Green Market Place North Conway NH, made of Vermont Marble. This outdoor sculpture is meant to serve as a welcoming symbol of the community imbuded with dignity and grace to invite visitors to the market place. My inspiration for this piece comes from the ancient Greek columns called “Caryatids” that watched over the Acropolis in Athens and are still there today.
